Combat pistol is not a sanctioned match:
The goal of this shooting event is to help the shooter learn to operate there firearm under somewhat stressful scenarios . We do not keep a score but you can check targets to see where you placed your shots & most stages are started on a timers beep.
By working though stages shooter will have to maintain muzzle discipline at all time, engage targets in a tactical manner, preform reloads (planned and unplanned), diagnosis and clear any malfunctions to finish a stage. Stages are designed to replicate situations that could happen in everyday life. Elements of some stages are shooting on the move, using cover & concealment , & even clearing rooms. All are just fun drills to work on your skills.
We have expanded to not only pistols, but now we have add a rifle to a stage on some of our shoots. With this the shooter will have to transition between rifle & pistol on a stage. These shoots are indicated on the schedule. You will need a sling for your rifle and a holster for your pistol for these stages.
Targets are a range of paper, plastic silhouettes & steel plates.
Firearms being used run the gambit form .22 semi-autos on up to .45 autos. If you have the speedloaders you can use a revolvers.
Holsters are needed if you want to try this out and don’t want to invest in a holster you can use a range bag to transport your pistol from stage to stage, at no time will firearms be handle behind the firing line or the maintenance area. If you are shooting the rifle stage you must have both a sling & holster
The shoot is set up to be shot within 50rds if you don’t miss with your pistol and 20-30rd for the rifle stage.
